OUR STORY

Finding Inspiration in Every Turn

Constructed by local craftsman in the 1880's our historic, heritage building is located at 214 Main Street east in Shelburne, Ontario. Completed in 1888 the site was originally home to the Shelburne Methodist church.

The congregation used the main floor area where the pub is located today to host weddings, commencements and even funeral gatherings. After merging with the Prespeterian Church and creating the United Church the building was sold in the mid 1920's to the Order of Freemasonry in Shelburne, where it was used as a lodge for the next 50 plus years.

Not completely closed to the public the Masons and their female only counterparts the Order of the Northern Star allowed local groups like the unions, scouts, brownies and even the Church use the space to hold events.

However by the 1980s the upkeep on the heritage building was becoming too costly and the building was sold to a couple from Vancouver Canada who began renovations for a home. The main floor was largely untouched and remained that way throughout the next four families who lived in the building as a private residence.

Until 2016 when the building was purchased by us in order to reopen this amazing space to public and bring back the food, fun, and laughter of its distant past.

During the process of converting the private home into a restaurant the entire main floor was gutted and rebuilt and almost everything (but the washrooms and kitchen) was returned to it's original layout. The unused side yard was completely transformed into our magic garden patio area and the interior was turned into our open concept pub with a capacity for 100 guests.

We love this buildings history, incredible architecture and truly one of a kind design. Our hope is that you will too.
